A "complete rework" update.
Ok, where to start? Basically, this is a complete rework of the game that I've been working on for the last month. Starting from the better visuals and audio (I composed my own music for this, wow! Definitely completely not worse in any way from the previous freely licensed music!).
The narrative was reworked to better work as, well, a narrative, and to fix some pacing issues.
Barring some small mistake fixes this might require, this is basically the final update, and a completed "vision", so to speak. My main goal with this update was to try and treat this game as "professional", with proper quality and feel. Obviously, it's only professional from the point of an amateurish solo game dev, but this is hopefully gonna help me build up my stories better down the line. This is also kinda officially the end of my "journey" with this particular game, and I can get to my other projects - I already have more than enough of them. Kinda doubt they're gonna be as dark as this game, both visually and narratively.
Oh, one other thing. I also hope that it's obvious that the topic, themes and the ending of this game aren't meant to be a comment on any particular issue, and mostly serve as my way of reflecting on the nature of the time loop games, and by extension, the idea of "time travel" narratives, that I always found unsatisfying at best.
Also, I added an asset pack that you can buy to support me! If I can get at least some funding by selling this (and I do mean, *any* funding, at least one purchase is prolly gonna be enough for me at this point lol), I can finally start treating this as a serious endeavor instead of a wild stab in the dark, which I seem to be doing a lot.
Ok, this was a bit long-winded, but these dev updates are basically the closest thing to a blog I'm ever going to do. So, thanks for reading, I hope you like my little story and as always, support Ukraine!
